Marlborough hotel expands with new suites and wellness center

The Marlborough Boutique Hotel & Vineyard will introduce 20 new Junior Suites in January 2027, alongside a wellness center, fitness facility, and a modernized reception area. This development preserves the property’s emphasis on privacy and tailored service while expanding capacity across its 16-acre estate in Marlborough, New Zealand.

The new rooms are distributed across six pavilions, each containing either three Junior Suites or a combination of Junior Suites and a Family Suite. By limiting guest numbers in each pavilion, the hotel ensures exclusivity—every Junior Suite opens to a private outdoor area, offering views of the gardens or working vineyards. Measuring 517 square feet, these suites include a king bed, a freestanding tub, a walk-in rainfall shower, and a private patio.

Design elements combine natural textures with earthy autumn hues and contemporary furnishings, mirroring the estate’s surroundings. The Family Suite, spanning 861 square feet, connects two bedrooms with two bathrooms, providing flexibility for families or groups while maintaining privacy.

A new wellness center will feature four treatment rooms, a sauna, cold plunge facilities, and dedicated spaces for private Pilates and yoga sessions. Guests will check in at an updated reception and dining hub, where electric carts will transport them to their accommodations.

Executive Chef Wieland Matzig will launch The Source, a casual dining spot serving wood-fired pizzas, seasonal produce from the estate’s gardens, and straightforward dishes. This addition will operate alongside Harvest Restaurant, which continues to deliver refined dining centered on locally sourced ingredients.

The new Junior Suites give us the opportunity to welcome more guests to the estate while still providing the space, privacy, and personal experience that are so important to us. Together with the new wellness and dining spaces, guests can experience much more of Marlborough without necessarily having to leave the property, says Angela Dillon, owner of The Marlborough Boutique Hotel & Vineyard.

The expansion includes guided and self-guided tours of the estate’s organic vineyards, gardens, and walking trails. On-site amenities extend to dining, wellness services, and private patio relaxation.

Beyond the property, the hotel serves as a gateway to the Marlborough Sounds, the Queen Charlotte Track, and nearby wineries. The Concierge team will arrange regional excursions tailored to individual preferences.

Bookings for the Junior Suites will open in January 2027, with starting rates of $1,300 USD per night for two guests.
